Today, March 23rd, 2025, marks a joyous milestone – the grand opening of our dedicated autism center! This space, born from community support and tireless dedication, is now a reality, ready to welcome children and families seeking specialized care and support.
Reflecting on our journey, we remember the initial renovation updates, the excitement of reaching 60% completion, and the anticipation of creating a nurturing environment. This center is more than just a building; it’s a hub of hope, designed to empower children with autism spectrum disorder and their families.
The challenges faced by families with special needs children are significant. We aimed to create a place that not only provides care but also fosters a sense of community and belonging. Inspired by the spirit of support we witnessed in initiatives like providing medical insurance in Nyamata, we envisioned a center where every child could thrive.
Here’s how our center will operate:
- Twice-Weekly Program: Children will attend the center twice a week, accompanied by their parents or caregivers. This allows for consistent support and engagement.
- Parent Involvement: We believe in the power of family. Parents will actively participate in their child’s activities and receive guidance and support from our staff.
- Comprehensive Services: Our center will offer a wide range of services, including:
- Educational activities tailored to individual needs.
- Therapeutic games and play.
- Nutritious meals to support healthy development.
- Medical treatments, including regular dental examinations and health check-ups.
- Care and support from qualified staff.

We had initially aimed for a February 17th, 2025 opening, a few unexpected construction delays pushed that back slightly. We are so happy to have opened on March 23rd, 2025. It is important to us that everything was perfect for the children.
